BAY COLONY CLUB CONDO - SEPTEMBER 27 BOD MEETING - COMMENTARY

The major board actions (as noticed on the agenda) of outsourcing grounds maintenance and changing security providers managed to drag an additional 7 people out to the meeting for a total of 29 attendees.  (August's meeting had 22 attending.)  Significant actions at the meeting were:

  1. Security contract moved to Allied Barton as of December 1, 2012 at an annual cost of $271,253
  2. Rec 3 roof to be replaced by DEK Roofing for $29,775
  3. Replacement of the Rec 4 ice machine for $3,220 was ratified
  4. Landscaping and irrigation is to be outsourced to US Lawns at an annual cost of $119,289
  5. Pool maintenance is to be outsourced to Sparkling Pools & Spas at a cost of $1,350 per month.
  6. Rec 1 pool to get new Diamond Brite coating for $6,500
  7. Treasurer Jack Israel again said that we will probably face increased maintenance charges next tear in order to get needed and delayed maintenance done.  Still no indication of the amount of increase.

BAY COLONY CLUB CONDO - AUGUST 23 BOD MEETING - COMMENTARY

Considering it was late August and all or snow birds are out of town, 22 attendees at the meeting is better than could be expected.

Treasurer Jack Israel said that we will probably face increased maintenance charges next tear in order to get needed and delayed maintenance done.  No indication of the amount of increase.

Purchase of new ID wristbands and adaptation of revised Rules and Regulations postponed pending legal opinions.

Allowing overnight parking of personal use pick-up trucks to be included in the proposed amendments to BCC's Documentation.  Other "undesirable" vehicles will continue to be banned.  (No scooter for Sam?)

Bay Colony Club Codo - House Cleaning?

Some long time employees have recently been fired to the dismay of many residents.  It is very hard to find reliable help who show up when scheduled and put in a days work.  Were these firings justified?  Is there some hidden agenda being pursued?

What's your opinion?
