BAY COLONY CLUB CONDO - SEPTEMBER 27 BOD MEETING - COMMENTARY

The major board actions (as noticed on the agenda) of outsourcing grounds maintenance and changing security providers managed to drag an additional 7 people out to the meeting for a total of 29 attendees.  (August's meeting had 22 attending.)  Significant actions at the meeting were:

  1. Security contract moved to Allied Barton as of December 1, 2012 at an annual cost of $271,253
  2. Rec 3 roof to be replaced by DEK Roofing for $29,775
  3. Replacement of the Rec 4 ice machine for $3,220 was ratified
  4. Landscaping and irrigation is to be outsourced to US Lawns at an annual cost of $119,289
  5. Pool maintenance is to be outsourced to Sparkling Pools & Spas at a cost of $1,350 per month.
  6. Rec 1 pool to get new Diamond Brite coating for $6,500
  7. Treasurer Jack Israel again said that we will probably face increased maintenance charges next tear in order to get needed and delayed maintenance done.  Still no indication of the amount of increase.

So, when do we get rid of our useless manager and outsource the managing to a really good and much cheaper management company?

Bay Colony only needs a part time manager now. Since she got rid of what she is getting paid to do, we don't need her anymore. No body is home upstairs.

LOL. "That Jack guy" here. We have a great working, professional relationship.

I think we are making a big mistake by getting rid of Strike Force. I am glad they got rid of that pompous, narcissistic jerk Orlando and Steve has been with BCC for years but he was a breech to our Security! He could not see and never checked IDs. And Allied Barton is costing us more than what Strike Force is charging us from what I hear!

Correction Please! said...

You obviously don't get the Informer - it was announced that Strike Force cost us $285K. The new company is $271,253 annually.
The new company is providing their own patrol vehicle and they have 35 other properties in Broward - very familiar with condo properties. BCC was Strike Force's FIRST condo - we were their GUINEA PIGS - and they failed miserably.
Check your facts before you give out MISinformation.

The resident that said Strike force should stay and the guards were no good, sounded like to me, shades of the last president Bud. Hmmmmmmmmmm wonder wy he liked them so much? I think we have an idea.
