BAY COLONY CLUB CONDO - SLOTA ON BOARD?

Originally Published 1/22/12

On September 18, 2008 Sam Slota, then President of the Bay Colony Club BOD, secretly signed a contract with communications Consulting Group (CCG) obligating BCC to pay more than $120,000 for their services.  This "consultant" tied us into a ridiculous, over priced, ten year deal with Comcast.  (The video industry is developing so fast that in ten years, there may not be any cable TV.)

1. This contract was not approved by the BOD.
2. The compensation to CCG was misrepresented by CCG and  not pointed out by Slota.
3. According to BCC's attorney; "...CCG committed fraud when it presented itself to the owners at the Board meeting, just as (Slota) committed the same fraud by allowing that presentation without correcting the compensation."
4. At the Board meeting of October 22, 2009 a motion to remove Slota as BOD President was defeated when Slota, George Lauth and Pete Shelton voted against it.
5. At the January 21, 2010 Board meeting our BOD approved a $60,000 payment to CCG thereby ratifying and approving Slota's secret deal and preventing any civil and/or criminal actions against Slota and CCG.  Board members voting to rescue Slota from his indefensible position were: Harriet Gustafson, Pete Shelton, Saundra Zubko and Slota himself.

In March, 2002 then BOD President Slota convinced his Board to impose an illegal (non-emergency) $384,000 assessment.  The assessment generated a legal challenge which ended with a judgement that the special assessment was, in fact, illegal and not authorized by the BCC Documentation.  The legal process dragged on for 4 years and generated tens of thousands of dollars in legal bills which the BCC owners had to pay.
It is not in Bay Colony Club's best interests to have Slota or any of his defenders and enablers (Harriet Gustafson, George Lauth, Pete Shelton, Saundra Zubko) on any future Board or committee.

Guess who was partying together at the Boat Parade in Shelton's condo: Harriet & husband, Saundra, Sammy, and the Lauths. And we want to entrust the community to them again? Get real, people.

THE comcast contract was a home run for the community--bcc DOOR FEE PORTION OVER $45,000 Check the pricing out with any other surroundind condo's. We did have a somewhat of a snake oil presentation at a board meeting an the attending residents. Nothing absent but Charlie's business mind and common sence on community matters
ALL FICTION AND ABSOLUTLY NO FACTS CHARLIE STAY TRUE TO YOUR BCC HISTORY ONLY YOUR TOTALLY UNFOUNDED OPINION AND NO FACTS
shame on you your history at bcc speaks for itself the countless thousands of dollars you cost this community.
Have you ever done one thing GOOD for the community that you personnaly didn't benefit from?

Well, it is a FACT that our BCC attorney called Slota's secret contract deal FRAUD.

And it is a FACT that the judge found Slota's "emergency" special assessment ILLEGAL.

And, it is a FACT that as supervisor of the Rec District I got the Rec bond refinanced and set things up so the District could be dissolved. (No hint of kick backs here either.)

What is NOT a FACT is that our contract with Comcast is a good deal. That's one man's opinion.

"Home run" in a pig's eye.....

It's a scarey thing to note that this man will now be appointed by the board at the meeting tomorrow night AND they will get to appoint another member, making the "run off" election a moot point. I expect non competetive bids on many items and many questionable acts to be condoned. At least the secretary, Jane, covered her job for a bit by filing an EEOC complaint against Jim. Now he can't just outright fire her as it would seem it was for filing. I could see them voting to outsource, thus giving the office staff a bit of notice. Please note you will see many 5-2 votes on this board and you will see who REALY cares about BCC.

YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!
They would never be stupid enough to appoint someone as IGNORANT as Slota, oh well, they ALL better start looking over their shoulders.

Tying BCC to Comcast Cable for ten years makes no sense what so ever, for with the rapidly evolving changes to the TV spectrum it has locked BCC into 20th Century technology for the foreseeable future. Stupid in my estimation.

It's ironic how everyone blasts Sam Slota for his cable contract, but conveniently forgets the great savings for BCC that he put in place by the simple act of changing the exit road lighting over to fluorescent.
It took only three months to pay for the retrofit of the fixtures, then the savings kicked in (which were well-documented in the office).
Each month since then, BCC has saved $2,500 monthly over the old billing for the exit road.
That has mounted up to over $300,000 in savings for BCC in the 10 years since it was done.
People would much rather run a guy down than appreciate anything good he did.

What kind of kick back did Sam get on the bulbs?

I'm really surprised and disappointed at you, Mr. Pukit.

Despite the time you list as my "posting time", I actually wrote on your Blog about 4:30 AM this morning after I got home from my night shift.

HOW COULD YOU POST IT AND GET A "REPLY" POST AND HAVE IT READY TO READ BY 7:30 AM THIS MORNING?

Gotcha, Mr. Pukit! It seems that YOU are "replying" and keeping things stirred up.

Geez Louise - you sure do HATE Sam Slota.

How many other of your controversial Blog entries were actually written by yourself in order to keep things going?

I'm really disappointed. Your Blog has now lost all credibility.

In reference to the above.............you know who has been writing crap about people and then replying to herself. She taught Pukit all about blogging.
Takes one to know one.
