BAY COLONY CLUB NOV 23, 2011 CLOSED BOD MEETING - QUESTION

CLOSED?

Does this mean we are being sued again?

Why meet in Highland Beach?

Is the sky falling, or what?

Where in hell is Highland Beach???

Up near Boca Raton I think. Anyway, that's what the meeting notice that I saw gave as the meeting location.

"Discuss Legal/Employee Issues"???

This sounds ominous.

Have we received a lawsuit from Sheila? Serves the Board right if they have!!! Hope she takes them to the cleaners!

"Employee" issues - are we about to fire the inept manager? the sloppy secretary? ("Highland Beach" indeed!) Or are they contemplating firing our first PROFESSIONAL CPA? (the Treasurer was overheard saying "she has to go") - she would be the last of the four left who might POSSIBLY have a clue what went on with the financials last year ...

WHY does this Board have so many "behind closed doors" meetings? Can't they present issues in front of the residents like PAST Boards did? Can't they handle controversy? Are they so afraid of the residents voicing displeasure that they have to present things at a later Meeting as a "ratify" vote? (There is NO open discussion with a Ratify Vote - everything's already decided - a "done deal".)

Tacky, sneaky tactics.

At the October 20 Board Meeting, the Manager said she'd walked the docks with Brady to read the dock meters. (We were supposed to get our Dock Bills for the last quarter BEFORE October 1st, when the bill becomes due.)

That was almost SIX WEEKS ago. We STILL don't have our Dock Billing for the last quarter!

Who's at fault here?

Look at the dock rental money that BCC is missing out on that should be in the bank, along with having to subsidize the dock electric that isn't being paid.

No wonder BCC is short on money! Sloppy!!!

We don't have OUR Dock bill yet either! I just don't want to see a "late" notice with penalties coming in. Actually, in less than a month, we should be getting the January 1st, 2012 bill (that is due January 1st)!

Looking at the Budget that came down, BCC receives $26,510 yearly from the Dock leases, which would work out to $6,627.50 quarterly for BCC. Add in the electric owing (ONE of the boats here has a bill in excess of $800 quarterly for electric!) and you could be looking at maybe $8,000 (or more) that's missing from the bank accounts.

How come the Treasurer isn't looking into this? I don't think that BCC is all that flush with money at this point ...

I think we need a complete re-vamp of the whole situation - management, accounting and ACCOUNTABILITY to the residents!

Got the Election stuff yesterday and read it over. Checked my old copy of FS718 to see if the dates were correct.

Looks like we'll be saving money on the Ballot mailout - no need to send the Ballot out to ANY of the foreigners - since they don't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting their votes back in time. Why? Because, IF they send it out with the "minimum 14 days" before Election day - not a single vote will make it back.

All foreigners take a MINIMUM of 20 days for immediate turn-around. Fourteen days simply won't work.

That covers about 40-45 voters. Gee - d'ya think that THOSE 40-45 votes just MIGHT get "voted" anyways? Hey Charlie - dust off your little laptop - you just might have to check the election results for "rigging"!

We USED to send stuff out in years past with PLENTY of time for foreigners to vote. Why the change? Makes me suspicious as hell.

Thank god for Charlie's Blog and the Informer. There's more news of importance to our community in THEM than what was in that sorry excuse for an office newsletter. The president "pontificates", the manager makes her one-liners that don't tell us anything, and why do we need a recipe instead of REAL NEWS? Guess if you throw a dry meatless bone to a hungry dog, it'll keep him busy for a while until he realizes there's no food value in meatless dry bones.
What a disappointment.
Keep the Blog going Charlie - and I'm looking forward to another issue of Informer.

We need a NEW Board!
I'll vote for ANYBODY who will bring our Sheila back as manager!
