BCC Board Election - 3 DAYS LEFT TO BE A CANDIDATE!

Written requests to be a candidate for the Board of Directors must be submitted no later than midnight Wednesday, January 5.

Owners who paid attention and attended Board meetings over the years know that far too many of our past Boards have been assembled from the crooked, drunken, daft and/or terminally dumb among us.  The only way to straighten things out in BCC would be to have a thoroughly vetted slate of candidates and put time and money into getting them elected.

That said, who is willing to serve and would be trustworthy?

The alternative is to help get the worst of the worst elected and hope that when BCC hits rock-bottom, the owners will wake up and pay attention.

Three days left to put in a request to run.

It’s a dilemma….

Charlie - will YOU be a candidate?
I sure do hope so.
I'd like to see YOU, Sean Holland, Bill Delaney, Rocco Viola, Bev Houston and Bill Walker )who wrote the letter to Saundra Zubko in "Rants and Raves") throw their hats into the ring.
Just curious.
How about an answer?

Just for fun - and since I KNOW this crazy community, let me guess who will run:

Despite protestations to the contrary, SAUNDRA ZUBKO - She will take along with her SAM SLOTA and perhaps JIM PAPPAS.

BUD LAUER won't be able to resist now that he's a home-owner and he'll probably drag in his good buddy PETE SHELTON.

We have WILBUR BULLOCK and BILL BRADY who have avowed they will run.

BETTY FRANCIS will run - just to protect her Bullock.

Now ... that gives us 8 Candidates to fill a Board of 7 members. I may not vote this year - not ONE is desirable in my opinion, with the possible exception of Bill Brady.

How about it BILL DELANEY - ROCCO VIOLA - CHARLIE PUKIT - SEAN HOLLAND - BEV HOUSTON - BILL WALKER???

Anyone else out there who is honest and trustworthy who might keep the criminal element out of office and away from our finances? Anyone out there who doesn't believe that kickbacks are a way of life? Anyone who truly CARES about the residents?

Get cracking - you've got only until Wednesday!

Help save our community!

Maybe I won't vote either.
SAUNDRA ZUBKO LOVES to spend money on HER pet projects.
SAM SLOTA cost BCC over $100,000 on that lousy cable contract that will will be obsolete halfway through its 10-year term. Takes kickbacks.
JIM PAPPAS was on the SRD Board with Saundra - 'nuff said!
BUD LAUER has no credibility since he has allied himself with the Saundra bunch through Pete Shelton.
PETE SHELTON wants to cut all the staff wages or outsource - and has the most "ingenious" way with finances.
WILBUR BULLOCK has allied himself with the Saundra bunch now too - absolutely NO credibility.
BETTY FRANCIS is Bullock's staunchest supporter and can't think for herself.
BILL BRADY - ??? unknown quantity
BILL DELANEY - never showed up for meetings, but probably more honest than most.
ROCCO VIOLA - unknown quantity.
CHARLES PUKIT - most people consider him the "Great Satan" since he sued BCC once; what about Joyous Burkart? SHE sued TWICE. George Katz sued too, and both were on the Board. I'd MUCH prefer Charles to Sam - he certainly wouldn't be standing in line for a kickback!
SEAN HOLLAND - the only thing bad here is that he lives in California; but the year he was the President he knew MORE of what was going on than those Board members who lived here full-time!BEV HOUSTON - a bad habit of resigning off Boards she doesn't like, but a hard worker.
BILL WALKER - don't know the fellow, but IF he's anywhere near as good as that letter to Zubko that he wrote in Rants and Raves, I'd vote for him hands down!
Someone suggested that RUTH RICHARD might run again; she has no people skills or experience - and isn't the friendliest of folks. Pass.
I wonder about WENDY METZGER, DANIELLE HARRELL, ROCHELLE BISAILLON, LESLEY LOMBARDI, JOYOUS BURKART, STACY ADLER ... pass. Pass. Pass and keep on passing.
Looks like BCC is really in deep trouble this time. No choice.
AND PEOPLE DON'T SEEM TO GIVE A DAMN - THAT'S the scariest part.

Hey Paul, I have NO affiliation with your statement regarding Pete Shelton or any others. I am my own man and do not associate with ANY individuals in this community politically. So I suggest that you retract your ignorant comment.

That being said. I have only one agenda, that is to help bring the board of directors back to the respect that the members of our association deserves.

One of my good sources just sent me a list of the Candidates who have filed their applications to run for the Board.

Read them and weep:

BARROS, Paul
BRADY, William (Bill)
BULLOCK, Wilbur
BURKART, Joyous
DELANEY, William (Bill)
FRANCIS, Betty
GLEASON, Trevor
HARRELL, Danielle
HOLLAND, Sean
HOUSTON, Beverley (Bev)
LAUER, Louis (Bud)
LAUTH, George
PUKIT, Charles (since withdrawn)
SLOTA, Samuel (Sam)
SMITH, Malachy
VIOLA, Rocco

Originally 16, now down to 15. All for 7 open seats.

At first glance, it really seems to be a Motley Crew.

Off the cuff, I would choose:
Brady, Delaney, Holland, Houston, Pukit, Smith, Viola. But Pukit is no longer running, so I would have to substitute Lauth - he's not confrontational and rude.

Let's hope a few others withdraw as they did last year when we had an overloaded list - but I DO want Smith to stay on the Ballot this time.

Just my opinion, folks; yours may be quite different from mine.

I am so happy that people are so passionate regarding the future of our community, wish more would be. I look forward to serving on the board to help bring back the respect and dignity that our members so deperately deserve.

I look forward to working with those that are possitive, ethical, and respectful. Thank you.

Note to "Anonymous" re your "SHOCKING" Comment:
Without recorded verification and/or substantiation from the speaker, alleged quoted remarks by third parties cannot be published.

Therefore, your comment "quoting" Wilbur Bullock on Directorial practices can't be added.

Also, opinions are OK, but "FACTS" must be substantiated to be published.

Hi Charlie,
Would you please ask Bev when I sued Bay Colony Twice.?......Thats a new rumor that was just made up...just like the rumor that pets can not be seem or walked here at BCC. Imagine having to spend $23,009 to make Saundra and Rochelle adher to the court order to comply with the pet settlement.
What a shame they lied to the community and residents did not know any better...and beleived it.
I should have never had to spend my money on this...and after asking 4 Boards to READ the pet settlement and they kept refusing. I would have much rather spent it on "special needs children", my pet charity.
With the up coming election, I imagine a couple who write most of the negitivity...will have a field day.......I'll use my time and effort to add joy to the children with "special needs". God Bless...

Hi Charlie,
Would you please ask Joyous why she continues to "ASSUME" (ASSUME = when you make an ASS out of U and ME) that anyone who writes as "Anonymous" or any other name that she doesn't recognize (I don't blame people for writing under an alias!) is ME???

Does she think that I really get my jollies making up all kinds of aliases and comments? She certainly convinced Betty Francis of this "fact"!

I just withdrew my name from the list of Candidates running for this year's election - because I really don't give a hoot WHAT people like her think or do.

Maybe she'll find somebody else (in my lifetime) to ridicule.

Probably not.

She DOES love to "ASSUME" ...

Bev Houston - YUP! Signing my name as bold as brass!

I appreciate those who have left positive comments, and have a few words to add regarding the BOD. Being a board member entails a willingness on the part of the individual to move beyond personal grievances as well as the ability to set aside disagreement in order to seek effective compromise for the common good. This was lacking during the months of bickering while our board did little to accomplish the goals set with enthusiasm and promise almost a year ago.

Presently there is another election and I had intended to seek another term as a director at BCC, however with the constant harassment, and the inability of the board members to compromise or even agree to hold a meeting, it became obvious to me that sitting on our board for another year seemed an exercise in futility. Because of the obvious acrimony and hostility evident between some members of the association, I chose to remove my name as a candidate from this election. While I believe there is much I could contribute as a member of the BOD, I decided that the expense in added airfare and time necessary to fulfill my responsibilities as a director, were more than I could expend at this time.

I am hopeful that the members of the association will give there full attention to this election, and chose wisely those whom you would entrust to provide the necessary leadership required to make decisions that impact upon the value of our homes at Bay Colony.

All the best,
Sean Holland

On Saturday I received an official mailing from BCC, which I thought would contain my ballot for the upcoming election. Instead it was a political mailing promoting the candidacy of Betty Francis & Wilbur Bullock. That it was on official stationary implies that this political mailing is endorsed by members of the association, which I resent. I don't believe that this matter was voted upon or approved at a noticed meeting, for the expenditure to send out political mailings for this election, and as such I request that Betty Francis & Wilbur Bullock reimburse BCC for the total cost of this mailing.
